Couch Revamp

This sofa apparently has water damage. You can't really tell how bad, based on the photos. They are only asking $200 though, so I think it is a total steal. My roommate and boyfriend vetoed my decision to purchase it, because a) it will take me forever to reupholster it and b) they think it looks uncomfortable. Whatever. Grab a pillow and you're good to go. It is so dang cute.

Maybe this baby was meant to be yours... available in the Inland Empire.

Portland Brass

OUTDOOR COLLECTION :::installment two:::

This table is solid brass--I think I'm in love. It is so unique. Pretty sure this is the one I'd choose for my outdoor living room. I'm looking for chairs and am working on some other great outdoor pieces. Stand by for more! Happy hunting!

Plus + Plus = San Francisco

OUTDOOR COLLECTION :::the first installment:::

Back to blogging. Had a minor delay, as I was busy working on my sister's Bridal Shower. I'll do my best to make-up for it in this week's posts.

For starters, I'm inspired by the glorious weather that is now upon us. I love the idea of bringing your formal dining room outside. I think this sort of novelty creates memorable moments and I'm a firm believer that supremely appealing environments cause us to stop and soak in not only our surroundings, but the moments that encompass them. That being said, here is the first of a forthcoming Outdoor Collection.

Work with me, here. Pretty cute wrought iron vintage table below...

Plus....this pretty cute chandelier that would look way better with some tlc...

Equals...A Craigslist version of this beautiful Domino Mag outdoor living room. I love the juxtaposition of nature meets fine dining.

Hekman

I think this beautiful coffee table speaks for itself. It is unique, simple and quite lovely. It is of course a little pricey, but again, compared to retail prices, it is a total steal.

Austin: Takin' care of business

I hardly EVER post about Craigslist finds that I think are overpriced. Based on how much time I've spent searching for deals, I really think asking $1000 is pretty daring. Hardly anyone seller would do that, because I think most people that are on Craigslist aren't looking to spend that much money.

However, I saw this bed and these photos and just had to post. I mean...how lovely is that bed? Maybe it's the wood floors and the good amount of white that makes it that much more tempting,  but if I could, I'd buy this bedroom and make it my own.

Sorry to post about reupholstery again, but how cute is this chair? And it is tufted. I can't resist a tufted chair. It is available in Orange County.

I've rummaged through the internet for a site that has a step-by-step photo guide for DIY upholstery. This one is pretty good, but I'd love some suggestions.

Lastly, PurlSoHo (above) is one of my favorite fabric websites. (There aren't many well-designed fabric sites out there). PurlSoHo has such impeccable taste, that if it were me, I'd order several yards worth and get to work on some new furniture!

Greetings, Denver

Darn you Craigslist...I wish I had room for all of your great stuff. These benches are so great--imagine all the fun you could have deciding what to do with them. This pair is only $75 from Denver's List.

Dressed in New England

Stop the train. So this dresser is, of course, spectacular. Clean lines...and I love dressers with feet like this. Domino Mag shows this one in their furniture gallery. It is by Thomas O'Brien of Aero Studios for $6,600.

Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts Craigslist has this dresser with similar modern attributes. Are you ready for this?...It is only $100.  Can you handle it? I'm thinking I need to move out to New England so I can take advantage of all their amazing furniture offerings on The List

On my way out

Before I could drag myself away from Seattle's Craigslist, I stumbled on a the post for this armoire. The more I look at the photos the more I'm feeling the need to buy a ticket to the Northwest to make it my own. I'm pretty sure I can make room for an armoire if it is as great as this one.

P&dub

P&dub (Pacific Northwest) represent. In honor of my friend, Lindsay, over at MStetson Design who blogged about Your Junk in My Trunk, I thought I would show you a few Seattle finds today. First off, I'm absolutely obsessed with books--I got my graduate degree in English--enough said. My collection is overflowing, so if I had a floor to ceiling bookshelf situation, I'd be in heaven. Below are two photos for inspiration provided by a Domino Mag bookcase gallery

I love the idea of color coordinating your books. A little hyper-organized, but just so pretty.

So, from Seattle's Craigslist (which has so much great stuff...I'm considering moving there just to take advantage of all the great finds) we have a set of shelves. They mimic the floor-to-ceiling look that works so well.

And for those of us that might need to fill our shelves, this listing offers many boxes of books at only 50 cents per. I love it! That kind of deal is hard to find.

LightBright

Courtesty of the brilliant findings from Design*Sponge: The gracie lamp (below) from Crate and Barrel takes it to the next level. I love the solid color. Personally, I'm not sure if I'm crazy about the shades, so I might do without and go with frosted bulbs instead. But I love the solid shiny color that allows your eye to focus on the shape and texture of the piece. It is cute in white with the yellow background, but oh so cute if you were to paint it a bright color (in case your walls aren't bold yellow like in the photo below).

And if you can't afford the $200 version from Crate and Barrel, here is a $30 one you can pick up from a Simi Valley Craigslist posting. I see chandeliers similar to this all the time on Craigslist, so don't fret if this one is taken already. There are several tips on the internet about how to paint brass. Here is one from the DIY Network's site.

As always, happy hunting!

Hutch

I think this hutch is pretty cute. I might try to rough it up a bit...perhaps some paint and some chicken wire on the doors...I'm into it. What do you think? It is available in Orange County.

Wingbacks and Domino

Dang. Here's another opportunity to put those reupholstery skills to work. With these great prices, why not give it a shot? Craigslist is perfect for those of us looking for creative outlets that won't demand too much of your paycheck. These chairs are available in Orange County.

And of course, for inspiration, check out this cute patterned upholstery fabric from Mod Green Pod. This Atticus basil pattern was featured in a Domino Mag gallery.
Thanks to Domino, you can see how darn cute the fabric looks on a piece of furniture. Wow. I just want that in my house right now.

Accent Table

I don't know. For some reason this table jumps out at me. It's a little different--which is great because different (or interesting) and cute at the same time is hard to find.

Lately, though it seems like crazy talk, I'm kinda into the cane. It is broken here though, so if that little spot would drive you mad, you might have to replace it.

The more I think about it, the more this table grows on me. What do you think? It is available in Orange County.

Calling all brave ones!

Have you ever reupholstered a couch? I haven't been brave enough to try yet, but this couch is such a screaming deal, it would certainly tempt me to give it a shot. I absolutely love the feet. I think if it were me, I might go white and paint the feet black.

Tableside

I'm really jealous. I just bought a new table for myself off Craigslist, but am now very sad this wasn't for sale when I was looking. Because I love to have my friends over, squeezing them into a tiny apartment is much easier when you have plenty of room around a table. But when everyone goes home, how nice it would be to have a table with leaves?

This table is available in Orange County. Snatch it quick!

The Huomenta Table from Anthropologie provides just the right inspiration. Imagine the possibilities!
